Current Offerings

Sovereign Waters is currently in a growth phase.

Through grant funding, partnerships, and ongoing resource development, we are working to secure the boats, safety equipment, and infrastructure needed to expand supported, community-centered opportunities for people to build comfort and relationship with water.

The offerings below reflect the work we are actively building toward and seeking additional support to sustain.

Pool-Based Introduction

Introductory experiences in calm, controlled environments that allow participants to build familiarity with water and paddling without pressure.

Often the first step for those who are new to paddlesports or rebuilding comfort with water.

Near-Water Experiences

Land-based gatherings that create space to spend time near the Mississippi River and surrounding waterways without expectation of entering the water.

These experiences support observation, conversation, and presence.

Guided Paddlesports Sessions

Supported time on the water in calm environments, offering participants the opportunity to explore paddling with instruction and safety-forward guidance.

Community Paddle Gatherings

Shared time on the water centered in connection rather than performance.

These gatherings emphasize relationship with place, with one another, and with the river.

Workshops & Special Collaborations

Occasional sessions offered in partnership with community organizations and watershed partners.

Topics may include:

Water safety
River awareness
Equipment familiarity
Environmental stewardship

Offerings evolve seasonally and in response to community interest. So let us know what you’d like to see! Sovereignwaters@pm.me
